Contingency or alternate plan for an outdoor wedding
Not having a rain plan: Unless your wedding is being held indoors a contingency or alternate plan should be thought about for an outdoor wedding. You never know when the heavens might decide to break loose, or the wind is fierce or worse.
Even though the venue might have its own form of rain plan, chances are that it would not be something desirable or reliable. Having your own plan saves you from the stress of uncertainty or having to do with something you do not like. It is hard to plan for all eventualities but there are some that you need to be prepared for outdoor weather events like rain, wind, humidity etc.
It is a risk to begin with having an outdoor wedding. The risks are most likely worth the rewards however. We’ve been to outdoor weddings where the views were so breath taking that guests talked about the ceremony for months. Wedding photos are always wonderful outdoors. There is something about nature that makes you smile.
If your wedding venue offers any discounts for bad weather then you are ahead of the game. If not, you should ask for a discount if something were to happen.
Reality is that you want a beautiful day in a beautiful setting. The potential memories and joy are well worth a risk to end up with a wonderful day.
